Overview
About this vessel
The Riviera 45 Open Flybridge, produced between approximately 2007 and 2021, is widely regarded as a versatile, high-volume cruiser that balances serious fishing capability with luxury entertaining. Often called a "best boat" in its class by reviewers upon its release, it features a 3-cabin, 2-head layout that is particularly family-friendly and well-suited for long-range cruising.
Hull Design: Designed with input from Dutch naval architect Frank Mulder, the hull features prop tunnels that reduce shaft angles for a flatter, more efficient ride. Handling: The boat is known for being dry and stable, with a "solid as a rock" feel in offshore conditions.
Indoor/Outdoor Integration: A key feature is the large stainless steel-framed, hopper-style window and door that opens the galley to the cockpit, creating a large, connected entertaining area. Cockpit: Designed for both fishing and socializing, featuring a molded staircase to the bridge, a large, deep, and secure space, and options for a live bait tank or BBQ. Flybridge: The helm is positioned to the port side, freeing up space for a large, forward-set L-shaped lounge that can seat up to six people.
Accommodation: The 3-cabin layout includes a master forward with a queen bed and ensuite, a port side cabin with twin beds (convertible to a double), and a starboard cabin with bunks. The saloon sofa can also convert to a bed, allowing sleeping for up to 10 people in total.
Technological Improvements: Riviera used Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) for the hardtop and deck hatches, resulting in lighter, stronger components compared to traditional methods. Systems: The 45 uses a 24V DC system, which is more efficient for wiring and weight. It is well-engineered with a fully lined, clean engine room. Storage: The design maximizes storage with cedar-lined lockers and a utility room under the saloon floor for air-con units, washers, and freezers.
Excellent, spacious 3-cabin, 2-head layout for a 45ft boat. High-quality, luxurious cherrywood finish. Strong, stable, and dry ride. Great social interaction between salon, galley, and cockpit. Good resale value due to popularity.
