About this vessel
This 2010 Runnalls 31 is a well-designed Australian performance yacht offering a fantastic balance of fast, responsive sailing and practical cruising ability. Designed by Malcolm Runnalls of Runnalls Design and built by Malabar Boatworks in WA, she presents as a capable 31-foot yacht suited to both competitive club racing and enjoyable coastal cruising.
With a fibreglass/GRP hull, steel fin keel with lead torpedo bulb, and an efficient sail plan, the Runnalls 31 is designed to reward active sailing while remaining manageable for a small crew. Her layout is clean and functional, with an open-style interior, sleeping for four, a practical galley, refrigeration, enclosed marine toilet, and usable storage throughout.
Power is provided by a Yammer 3YM20 diesel engine with SD20 sail drive and a two-blade folding Seahawk propeller, providing economical cruising when required.

Rigging was replaced in 2021, including forestay, shrouds and D's, with a Dyneema backstay and upgraded backstay purchase. The yacht is also fitted with a carbon extendable prodder for the asymmetric and a fixed bowsprit tack point for code sails.
Electronics are well catered for with a B&G Vulcan 7R, dual Triton2 displays, DST800 log/depth, WS310 wired wind transducer, ZG100 GPS antenna, and Icom VHF with masthead antenna. Electrical systems include separate start and house batteries, Victron battery charger, B2B charging, and provision for a 120W solar panel.
On deck, she is set up for practical short-handed sailing with Dyneema halyards and control lines, Harken furler, Lewmar V2 anchor winch, Delta anchor with chain and rope, cockpit manual bilge pump, custom cockpit cushions, boom bag new in 2022, boom tent, and spray dodger stored below.
Below deck, the yacht offers a simple and functional open cabin arrangement with a double berth forward and two saloon berths. The L-shaped galley is located to port and includes a custom 12V Frigoboat refrigeration unit, sink with foot-pump fresh water tap, and a four-burner Smev stove which is currently not connected and does not hold certification. There is also a LeVac marine toilet and a transom sea water shower.
