'Pearl' is a simply stunning timber sloop rigged yacht, that was commissioned by her current owner and built on Pittwater between 1992 and 2016 by none other than our well-known local craftsmen Colin and Ken Beashel. Her hull is made from Huon Pine Carvel Planking, Spined and Sheathed, her frames are Laminated QLD Maple, Ribs American Oak and Floors Tea Tree. Her Deck is Fijian Kauri V Joint planking strakes, glassed over and then laid with celery top pine, margins, capping and trim are all rosewood. The cabin showcases Huon pine side cabins, with the bulkheads and cabinetry in rosewood trim. This yacht is an incredible vessel, not only does she look and feel amazing when you step onboard, but she also sails like a dream. A clever Qld Beech centre board case houses a centreboard that dramatically improved her performance with an increased draft from 0.91m to 1.98m.
