Plenty of grunt from the diesels and the vessel reaches planing speed soon after application of throttle. At 3000rpm the boat does 24.2 knots for a 388nm range, while 3200rpm is the sweet spot for 26.9 knots fast cruise for a 395nm range. The range is much the same at 3400rpm and 29.2 knots if that speed can be maintained. These cruise figures represent greater than 50 per cent better efficiency than big-block V8s. The twin diesels use 44-48lt/hr at 27-30 knots fast cruising. There is some audible induction noise at lower revs, but overall a very snappy performer.
