The ICE 52 'SWELL' is built by Ice Yachts, Italy, with naval architecture by Felci Yacht. Constructed with infusion epoxy fibre de verre/carbone, the hull and deck are epoxy-infused with 2/3 fiberglass and 1/3 carbon fiber, and the hull is epoxy-coated with 2 primer layers plus 3 sprayed layers of Speedy Carbonium. The mast is a Southern Spars through-deck mast with two sets of spreaders, and the boom is a Southern Spars carbon “Park Avenue” boom with lazy bag/jacks. The standing rigging is rod (2025), with a hydraulic vang and backstay by Reckmann.
The deck features a vacuum-glued natural teak deck, 10mm thickness, grey caulking, electric windlass (1500W) with remote, Delta 25 kg anchor with 70 m of 10mm galvanized chain, large forward sail locker, tender garage with manual opening, and Flexiteek swim platform with stainless steel ladder.
The interior includes a forward owner’s cabin with 160x200 cm bed, blackout curtains, wardrobe, and storage; starboard aft guest cabin with 160x200 cm bed, blackout curtains, wardrobe, and storage; port aft guest cabin with 160x200 cm plus 80x190 cm berth, blackout curtains, wardrobe, and storage. Forward head has electric toilet and black water tank; aft head has electric toilet, black and grey water tanks. The galley is equipped with a 3-burner stove with oven, refrigerator with freezer, icebox, microwave, double sink, and ample storage. The chart table includes electrical panel, generator/AC/watermaker controls, Raymarine VHF, and stereo. The saloon has a U-shaped sofa to port, leather-topped wooden table with carbon legs, removable bench, and flat-screen TV. Extensive storage is available throughout.
The engine is a Volvo Penta D2-75, 4-cylinder turbo diesel (2017) with 880 engine hours, 12V alternator, Volvo Penta saildrive with Flexofold 3-blade folding propeller, and MAXPOWER retractable bow thruster. Electrical and mechanical systems include a Paguro 4 SY generator (3.5 kW, 220 hrs), Schenker Smart watermaker (60 L/h), Dometic air conditioning (saloon and forward cabin), multiple batteries including engine start, generator start, bow thruster, and service batteries, MASTERVOLT Chargemaster Plus 12V/75A automatic charger, MASTERVOLT inverter 12V/2000W, 230V shore power connection with cable, and hot water heater.
Electronics include LED navigation lights, four Raymarine repeaters at mast base, starboard helm with Raymarine Axiom Pro S chartplotter, autopilot control, bow thruster control, lighting panel, compass; port helm with Raymarine Axiom Pro S chartplotter, Raymarine i70s wind display, lighting panel, and compass.
Safety features include three electric bilge pumps and one manual pump, emergency tiller, 8-person life raft, and CE Category A ocean certification.
