SMILE VIP is a professionally built, Vietnam Register-classed high-speed passenger vessel currently configured as a fully operational commercial dive charter platform.
Purpose-built by Cty TNHH TM Tân Viễn Đông (Vietnam) in 2018 and placed into commercial service in 2020, she is designed for reliable coastal operations with strong passenger capacity, efficient cruising speeds, and full onboard dive support capability.
SMILE VIP has been operating as a professional diving and fishing charter vessel and is fully configured for commercial dive resort support. Her layout supports efficient diver rotations, rapid tank refilling, and safe embarkation/disembarkation.
Powered by twin commercial-grade Yanmar diesels with a combined 1,016 HP. The additional starboard hours reflect low-RPM compressor operation rather than high-speed running, resulting in reduced mechanical stress. This performance profile is well suited for island-hopping dive routes, inter-island resort transfers, and high-frequency daily dive operations.
SMILE VIP is certified under Vietnam Register High-Speed Craft regulations and includes comprehensive safety equipment and compliance systems. This regulatory foundation provides a strong base for re-flagging within ASEAN markets, export and re-registration, and continued commercial operation in Vietnam.
For established or expanding dive operators, this vessel offers immediate revenue generation with no refit required. Originally registered as a high-speed passenger vessel, it gives structural and regulatory robustness beyond typical leisure conversions. Replacement cost for an 18m VR-classed HSC vessel of this specification would be significantly higher today, with 12-18 month build timelines.
