HAMMER is a stunning Gunboat 57, set up for family cruising and Sabbatical adventures. Badged a Gunboat 57, HAMMER features a transom extension of 2 feet on the Gunboat 55 hull, creating a larger swim and boarding platform, and increased speed with waterline length. The original design specification for the Gunboat 55/57 was to offer a performance cruising catamaran that could be owner driven and not require pro crew like the Gunboat 60, 62 and 66 models. The bridge deck is very social with its galley up design. All entertaining, meals and relaxing are done on the same level. In the middle of this is the steering station with all sailing controls led to the helm. HAMMER’S build brief was for a high-performance family cruising yacht with a functional sail plan for the light air conditions common in the Chesapeake during the summer months and trade winds of the Caribbean in winters. HAMMER can match the wind speed in 6-10 knots of true wind. HAMMER’S additional tankage extends her steaming range to over 1300 nautical miles for passage making when sailing conditions are not optimal.
