Leopard 40

The vessel features a hull constructed from Composite Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Sandwich with Balsa core and a textured GRP deck. It has a balanced spade rudder and a multihull keel type. The boat was built in South Africa.

It is equipped with two Yanmar 3YM30 AE inboard sail drive diesel engines, each producing 29 power, both from 2018, with 2405 and 2400 hours run as of February 2025 respectively. The engines have 2 blade aluminum propellers and use Morse controls with a heat exchanger cooling system and Yanmar SD20 gearbox.

The rigging is a sloop rig with spars made by Z Spars Z Diffusion in aluminium. The standing rigging is original stainless steel wire, and the running rigging is core braided line. The mainsail has slab reefing and the headsail has Profurl roller furling. The sails include a fully battened mainsail by Ullman with Antal System and a furling genoa by Ullman.

The interior features ash laminated marine ply construction with grey naugahyde upholstery in the saloon and grey cotton covers in the cabins. There are 4 cabins and 2 heads. Inside equipment includes an Eno 3 burner cooker with grill and oven, a large basin sink with dish drainer, 2 showers plus a transom shower, 2 handbasins, air conditioning with 2 Crusair units totaling 32000 btu, a Victron Centaur 40A battery charger, a deep freezer, 4 electric bilge pumps for main bilges and engine bays, 2 Jabsco electric flush heads, hot water, 2 manual bilge pumps for main bilges, and a Vitrifrigo DT Series refrigerator.

Electrical equipment includes 12V voltage and 110V electrical circuit, 3 AGM 4D 630Ah house batteries, 2 100Ah engine batteries, 1 100Ah generator battery, a Hitachi 80Ah alternator, and a Northern Lights 6kw generator with 3722 hours as of February 2025.

Deck equipment includes 4 warps, 5 fenders, a Delta primary anchor, and a Danforth secondary anchor. Additional outside equipment includes a cockpit shower and table, stainless davits with electric winch, 2 Sunware 70w solar panels, and a swimming ladder.

Electronics onboard include a Raymarine p70s autopilot, cockpit speakers, Plastimo Contest compass, Raymarine i70s tri-data depthsounder, built-in DVD player in TV, GPS speed log speedometer, Raymarine Axiom 9 inch touchscreen plotter, Fusion MS UD755 radio, Supersonic 19 inch TV set, Raymarine Ray 60 VHF at nav station and remote at helm, and Raymarine i70s & windex wind speed and direction instruments.

Rigging equipment includes a Lewmar ST45 electric halyard winch at helm and an Edson steering wheel.

The vessel measures 39 ft 4 in / 11.99 m LOA, 38 ft 1 in / 11.61 m LWL, 21 ft 1 in / 6.43 m beam, and has a max draft of 4 ft 1 in / 1.24 m. It is equipped with an electric windlass and has a 110 electrical circuit.

Tank capacities include 95.00 USgal / 359.61 L fuel tank, 206.00 USgal / 779.79 L water tank, and 24.00 USgal / 90.85 L holding tank.
