The Carkeek CF520 represents one of the latest high-performance designs from Shaun Carkeek, following the success of the 40ft Rán and conceived as a benchmark evolution beyond the TP52--without the constraints of class rules. Built to excel under IRC and other rating systems, the CF52 delivers grand prix performance, versatility, and exceptional balance both inshore and offshore.
Commissioned by experienced yachtsman Richard Matthews, Oystercatcher is the 35th yacht to carry the iconic name. Designed and built to be a truly world-class race yacht, she has demonstrated outstanding competitiveness across a range of conditions--most notably leading the Class Zero fleet upwind in the early stages of the 2025 Rolex Fastnet Race.
Her pedigree is further proven by her sistership Rán, which has been campaigned with exceptional results on the international circuit. The CF52 excels particularly off the wind in a strong breeze, making her an ideal platform for both offshore and performance-oriented racing.
Professionally maintained and only lightly used, Oystercatcher was sailed just once during 2024 while her owner focused on a 12 Metre campaign. She now presents in superb condition and is seriously for sale, as her owner prepares for a circumnavigation project and will not be racing the 52 in 2026-27.
Included in the sale is a galvanised steel shipping cradle with custom hull saddles and adjustable height (hi/lo) options.
