This 2022 BENETTI MOTOPANFILO 37M is a 121' 1" displacement trideck yacht, built in fibreglass, neatly refreshing its nautical tradition and representing its glorious and lively past as much as the contemporary era. Its iconic exterior and interior design, respectively accomplished by Francesco Struglia and Lazzarini Pickering Architetti, forges a renovated language, committing to the stylistic and functional expectations of today’s shipowners by combining Benetti’s shipbuilding expertise and most advanced technology.
Designed to suggest the idea of a large and protective shell gently embracing its guests, the BENETTI MOTOPANFILO 37M embodies a delicate and understated elegance that transcends the times. Its balanced volume is contoured by soft lines, only subtly enhanced by essential protrusions and carved elements reminiscent of its story. A completely flush surface element joins the hull with the superstructure to create a unique and visually harmonious form, the elongated silhouette preserving the original ship’s style. The main deck window further emphasizes the tapered effect as it stretches along the whole length of the hull.
The traditional mahogany cap rail edging the bulwark of the historic Motopanfilo is now transformed into an elegant aesthetic highlight in matte metallic bronze colouring. The 45-degree chamfer traces the outline of the main deck to the upper deck overhang, creating a fluid ribbon-like effect. As in the Sixties the transom is fully integrated in the hull volume, with the chamfer’s gentle design flowing down the hull shoulder and making it appear as one continuous surface. When folded out, its sloping face surprisingly reveals a longer beach platform caressing the sea, neatly encompassing present-day style and needs.
While maintaining the distinctive elegance and glamour of its ancestor, today’s Motopanfilo reflects the nature and usage of a modern yacht. The reinterpretation of traditional components found on classic boats such as the bulkheads, an age-old structural partition element, aspires to celebrate the sea as much as the idea of being on board a ship, whilst continuing to convey a sense of solidity and protection.
