Overview
About this vessel
The V-46 is the type of boat which turns heads in any bay, fishing comp, marina or competition. You might need a full time PA to manage people 'musing' at your boat wherever you go, just like a Lamborghini or Ferrari would. It's not just a good looking boat though, few may know that Valhalla is a brand incepted by a much larger manufacturer- Viking Yachts. Viking have been around since 1964, aiming to 'build a better boat every day', and after 2 generations of craftsmanship and innovation, 4,000 boats built, customers such as Michael Jordan... Ill let you do the math.
This is a good little taste of the history which Valhalla was incepted upon in 2019, as Viking launched the brand to serve the growing centre console and day-boating market. The V-46 possesses the same signature design traits (S-shaped sheer, doubles chines, tumblehome transom bustle), aesthetic enhancements (teak toerail and transom) and 360-degree fishing prowess of the V Series.
Like its stablemates, the V-46 is a Mercury 600HP V12 outboard-powered centre console that utilises the patented Michael Peters Yacht Design (MPYD) double-stepped hull. A design which allows a top speed of over 60 knots +, and cruising at close to 40 knots with plenty of speed to be unleashed offshore in tough terrain thanks to the supreme hull design innovations. Mercury Auto Trim and Zipwake make this job even more fun while running, a true joy to drive especially when put to the test offshore.
It is further equipped with a Seakeeper 6 Gyro Stabiliser which will allow you to fish rougher conditions more comfortably, and hopefully allowing you to get out on the boat more throughout the year.
This Valhalla's significant length (46' 7") and beam (13' 4") allow for a massive console that functions as an air-conditioned cabin. Through the port-side console door, a powder-coated pedestal with teak stair treads leads to an inviting living space including a full galley (microwave, fridge, cooktop and storage), fully enclosed head with shower and sink, and a dinette which can convert into a double bed.
The helm can also be partially enclosed with full drop down clears and 7 release marine helm seats; all passengers can get to the fish dry and comfortable with music roaring. For those not as interested in fishing, well, theres a great sunbed and lounge area at the bow for plenty of sun-tanning.
Overall, the new flagship possesses yacht-quality comforts, impressive stepped-hull performance and high-level fishability.
