2027 Excess 14 for sale in Australia, Australia
Overview
About this vessel
The Excess 14 is the pure incarnation of the Excess DNA, the result of dedicated design work and industrial execution unique to the brand. It is a cruising yacht that is both fun and playful, with sleek lines.
This catamaran is the outcome of innovative architecture and unbiased research work seeking 'out of the box' solutions. The Excess 14 is designed around a layout never seen before on the market, both in the owner's version and in the charter version. It offers more sensations while delivering everything you'd expect from a cruising boat.
Instantly recognizable design
The catamaran features a low boom, reduced windage thanks to lower freeboard, taut lines and redesigned hull windows. An aft-set coachroof, a forward stepped mast, a composite bowsprit, inverted and inclined bows, and an exposed forefoot create a dynamic catamaran ready for adventure.
Helm stations and visibility
Helm stations are positioned right at the stern in direct contact with the rudders and offering a good view of the sails, as inspired by monohulls. Visibility is optimal on board through untinted windows—an Excess exclusive on the market. The model features optimized fins design with extended rudder blades and a direct steering system with textile lines for better helm feel.
Innovative architecture
Thanks to collaboration with VPLP design, the lines of the Excess 14 benefit from an understanding of ocean racing. The model is designed with a forward-set rig, a square-top mainsail, and a large overlapping genoa to optimize the sail area to displacement ratio. Bridgedeck clearance has been increased for better passage through the water, and the hulls are designed asymmetrically to reduce interference drag. The design incorporates a lower center of gravity, an optimized structure with foam sandwich and carbon reinforcements, and a new longitudinal volume distribution.
Comfort and living spaces
The Excess 14 offers comfort and modularity of its living spaces while maintaining volume and good headroom in a warm and bright interior design. The hulls feature wide, very comfortable beds and bathrooms with separate showers. Large and subdivided storage spaces have been created for adventure preparation. A retractable chart table allows for no compromise between sailing and living spaces.
Layout options
The Excess 14 is available in several layout versions. The innovative 3-cabin version features a central bathroom, a large private dressing area, and an option of extra bunks. The 4-cabin version includes 4 cabins, 4 heads and 4 separate showers, with an optional skipper cabin in each hull and a skylounge option offering lounging space on the coachroof. A walk-in dressing room allows storage of both sailing gear and casual clothes, and additional twin berths allow the whole family to enjoy the suite.
