About this vessel
The MJM 36z Zephyr is a delightful yacht that draws heavily on classic lobster-boats for their looks while tapping into the cutting-edge world of racing sailboats for their technology. A masterful blend of fuel efficiency, speed, comfortable accommodations, joystick docking, and some very clever solutions to age-old problems.
The MJM 36z sips fuel at a rate that other builders only dream about. Cruising at a bit over 5 knots, she uses just 3.7L of fuel per hour. On a 750L tank, that's a range of about 1,000nm. At 25 knots, a comfortable cruise for both occupants and diesels, you will use only 49L/hr.
The MJM story started from Bob Johnstone (known in the sail racing world as J boats). He wanted to design a boat for his wife Mary Jane and engaged designer Doug Zurn and had it built by Boston Boatworks.
