The 121 ft Custom motor yacht 'Costa Brava III' was built by Palmer Johnson in their Sturgeon Bay, WI shipyard and delivered to her first owner in 1996. The vessel was fully upgraded and refitted in 2006 at Bradford Marine, Fort Lauderdale by the current owner, and underwent a second major refit from 2020 to 2023.
This luxury vessel's sophisticated exterior and interior design and engineering is the work of the renowned Tom Fexas Yacht Design team. Tom Fexas specifically designed this yacht to be used in the shallow waters of the Bahamas and Florida Keys, with a draft of only 6 feet.
'Costa Brava III' accommodates the owner and ten guests in five staterooms with individual heads. Crew quarters provide for seven in three cabins with two heads. Two additional day heads are located in the main salon and sky lounge. A central spiral staircase runs from the lower guest quarters to the sky lounge, including a food elevator from the kitchen to the main deck.
The hull and superstructure are ABS certified. The yacht cruises at 15 knots with a range of 2000 miles. A new marine signature paint job was completed in November 2019.
During the 2020 to 2023 refit, major upgrades included complete overhauls of both Detroit Diesel engines and transmissions (10 hours since overhaul), full navigation electronics and computers, new master cabin bathroom, and a new kitchen. The engine room was fully upgraded with new ceiling, walls, and LED lights. All deck teak was replaced with new 2 inch real teak flooring. The hydraulic system underwent complete overhaul including bow thruster, side stabilizers, windlass, and steering. New air conditioning chillers and evaporators, refrigerators, ice makers, water heaters, and seven new toilet systems were installed. Full LED lighting was upgraded throughout inside and outside. Two reverse osmosis watermakers and new battery chargers and batteries were added. A full hull ultrasonic survey was completed, confirming 100% perfect global aluminum integrity with necessary reinforcements. New underwater lights, shaft and prop balancing with new struts, hull coating, antifouling, and electrical transformer refits were completed. The yacht has never been chartered and has been maintained for family use only.
