About this vessel
Cat Balou is a 12.7m aluminum catamaran apparently designed by Grant Firth Marine Design, based on the Australian Power Cat style, and hugely upgraded and rebuilt 5 years ago.
The vendor has loved owning and fishing Wanganui/Cook Strait from her for the past 38 years and is now sadly looking to retire from boating.
She is well set up for fishing, diving and cruising with great cockpit space, a large alloy cockpit cover and dive platform by Q-West with great flybridge storage and seating.
She offers 5 berths with 2 double forward cabins and a saloon berth, a spacious saloon and good galley. She is strongly built and an excellent sea boat.
The vessel sank at her mooring due to a hose fault in 2018. She was subsequently rebuilt in 2018 under insurance with new motors, legs, interior, electronics and rewired.
She is very tidy inside and tidy externally, although some exterior cosmetics would enhance her.
Recent upgrades include new props, washdown pump and new antifoul in December 2023. This is an excellent platform for fishing, diving and cruising, offering great saloon, accommodation and cockpit space balance.
