Overview
"Minots Light II" is a great example of the benefits of consistent upgrades and watchful upkeep. Recent upgrades such as a repower and NEW stainless-steel rigging in 2020 help to provide a package that is an extremely capable and reliable extended cruiser. This vessel's condition is remarkable, with a close attention to detail evident throughout.
The cockpit is well thought out with a hard roof and great condition PVC clears to semi-enclose the space. All sheets run to this area with 4 Anderson 2-speed winches for operation close to the helm plus a Raymarine multifunction chart plotter for navigation. The cockpit seating benefits from some newly reupholstered cushions, providing space for 5.
The saloon below is spacious and charming with a great collection of nautical memorabilia on display. The galley sits immediately to starboard with a microwave, sink and gimballed gas oven and stove, nicely lifted by Corian bench tops. Sitting forward of the galley is the main settee and dinette that provides seating for at least 5. The port side lends itself to the well-equipped and comfortable nav station. Forward of the nav station is an additional bench settee that provides more seating for at least 3 comfortably.
The forward accommodation space is roomy with twin single bunks situated to port and plenty of storage space to complement, while the heads compartment is to the starboard side and is fitted with a toilet and shower and black water tank. In front of this accommodation space is a forward lazarette with an excellent amount of storage.
The engine compartment can be found underneath the above cockpit with great access from the front and side below the main companionway. The engine itself was newly installed in 2014 and is a Yanmar 4JH5E with 54hp, providing a cruise speed of 6 knots and a max speed of 8.
Progressing towards the aft, there is an additional single berth to the port side that is currently being used for easy access storage. This companionway leads to the spacious aft cabin where a great double berth sits to the starboard side, complemented by lots of storage, making this vessel a great liveaboard package.
Above, the decks are uncluttered and easy to move around. Both staysails are furling while the main sail and mizzen are stored in canvas boom bags with lazy jacks. All standing rigging was replaced in 2020 and the aluminium spars present in great condition. Additional storage can be found on the aft deck behind the cockpit through the thoughtful addition of two fibreglass storage bins and a spacious aft lazarette.
"Minots Light II" proposes a highly capable extended cruising package that is very well equipped and impeccably maintained.
