Overview
The 1979 C&C 29 is a fiberglass sailboat, set up for shorthanded distance sailing, with a rich racing history including 15 Huron Doublehanded Challenges, a Trans Erie Doublehanded race, and a Trans Superior Race in 2017. It has been owned and maintained by the current owner for the last 24 years. The boat is fitted with a 6-inch lead shoe on the keel to improve tender handling. This vessel has a comprehensive sail inventory with racing sails that are in good to excellent shape, including main, 150 Genoa, 150 Genoa with UV cover on a rolling furler, 120 and 110 Genoa, and various spinnakers and chute/reacher sails. The boat is equipped with electronic navigation and communication gear such as a Garmin 740 chart plotter GPS, AIS receiver/transmitter, autopilot, VHF with masthead antenna, and sea swing for cooking. The yacht features a tiller steering system with lines led to the cockpit via clutches and winches, an oversized main traveler, Harken rolling furler, and a VC 17 racing bottom paint. A steel cradle for transport is included. It is currently stored inside in Detroit and is available for viewings upon inquiry.
