The company was founded by Tony Fleming, who brought extensive experience from his time as technical director of American Marine and his work developing the Grand Banks line of trawler yachts. Fleming Yachts are built exclusively at the Tung Hwa boat yard near Kaohsiung, Taiwan, a facility selected for its exceptional craftsmanship and high standards. Over the years, Tony Fleming and his team have continuously refined their designs based on feedback, experience, and new technology, resulting in yachts known for combining classic aesthetics with cutting-edge equipment.

Since the launch of the first Fleming 55 in 1985, the company has expanded its model range to include larger models such as the Fleming 65, 75, 78, and most recently the Fleming 85. These yachts are celebrated worldwide for their quality, durability, and suitability for long-distance cruising. More than 385 Fleming Yachts are currently operating globally, with a loyal owner base that values the brand's dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.

The company has a dedicated management and technical team including Tony Fleming's nephew Adi Shard, and others with expertise in engineering, design, and quality control, ensuring the continuation of the brand's high standards.
