Southern Pacific
Since 1988, Southern Pacific has been building inflatable boats for New Zealanders to withstand the harsh conditions of New Zealand waters. Initially, the boats were crafted with glued fabric and plywood transoms in a small yard located in Browns Bay. Over the decades, Southern Pacific evolved significantly and now operates out of a world-class facility in Kumeu, West Auckland.
With more than 30 years of expertise, the company specializes in high-quality inflatable boats ranging from small tenders to 14-meter Hypalon tubes, serving customers globally including coastguards and military contracts. Their manufacturing uses advanced technologies such as digital pattern machine-cutting and thermal welding for fabric, combined with precise CNC-cut aluminum hulls and skilled welding, ensuring strong, durable, and symmetrical boats.
Southern Pacific inflatable boats are designed specifically for the demanding conditions of the Southern Pacific region, integrating user feedback and designs from renowned local naval architects. This dedication to quality craftsmanship has made Southern Pacific the country's leading inflatable boat producer.
All boats are proudly made in New Zealand.
The company was revitalized in 2013 when international yachtsmen Richard Macalister and Dean Barker joined, aiming to bring quality locally crafted boats back to the New Zealand and international markets after seeing a flood of poorly made imported boats.
Southern Pacific is part of Kiwi Yachting Ltd, continuing their commitment to durable, high-performance inflatable boats for various marine applications.
