Description
The Figaro BENETEAU 3 is the first production foiling one-design monohull ever to be designed. It is a distillation of technology and innovation resulting from a collaboration between group BENETEAU's experts and the Van Peteghem Lauriot-Prevost (VPLP) office, naval architects of two Vendee Globe-winning boats. The prototype has been tested, production launched, and the boat enters the ISO/World Sailing design category A.
Key Features:
- Foils: Inward-facing profile foils that reduce drift, improve righting moment, and enhance performance without increasing movement.
- Keel: Deep with a straight blade for minimum drag, supplemented by foil drift reduction.
- Hull: Made of foam sandwich, fiberglass and polyester infused resin, ballast-free.
- Mast and Sail Layout: Set back mast similar to Imoca 60s allowing use of high-performance sails and bowsprit. Solo sailors use a square-top mainsail (39.5 m²), genoa, jib (30.5 m²), masthead spinnaker (105 m²), and a small gennaker.
The boat is designed for modernity, reliability, and high performance, with state-of-the-art technology enhancing solo racing capabilities.
The boat is also connected to the Seanapps mobile application and onboard unit, enabling remote monitoring of boat systems such as battery charge, fuel and water tank levels, maintenance scheduling, route planning, and sailing status via smartphone.
