Building on the success of the well-established Fleming 55, the Fleming 78 is an evolution of the Fleming 75 with a longer hull and keel, providing reduced fuel consumption, increased range by 500 nautical miles, and luxurious accommodations. It features three en-suite staterooms, a separate crew quarters aft, and is powered by twin MAN V12-1550 HP engines with options for MAN V8 and MAN i6 engines. The vessel offers a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots and speeds over 20 knots.

Standard equipment includes Aquadrive vibration isolation systems, twin 29KW Onan generators, centralized hydraulic system driving American Bowthruster stabilizers, bow thruster, stern thruster, and twin Maxwell windlasses.
