Description
The DNA 901 Custom, exemplified by the vessel NOMAYA , is a heavy-duty 9.24 m aluminium plate boat designed for extended coastal cruising and offshore exploration. Built for New Zealands demanding Top of the South, Marlborough Sounds and West Coast environments, it prioritises comfort, range and practical functionality. A heavily constructed hull with 8 mm bottom and transom plating and 5 mm topsides delivers exceptional strength and seakeeping, while a curved front glass windscreen and 360 walk-around decks provide excellent visibility and safe movement around the boat.
The 901 Custom is powered by an inboard diesel engine (e.g. Mercury V8 370 HP), paired with large fuel (approx. 650 L) and water (100 L) capacities to support long passages. The interior is arranged for genuine liveaboard use with four forward berths, a full-height head with shower, galley with diesel cooktop, fridge and hot water system, and diesel cabin heating. Generous deck space, livebait facilities, extensive rod storage, electric reel sockets and comprehensive Simrad electronics make it equally capable as a serious sportfishing or adventure-cruising platform.
