ILUKA 1800

ILUKA 1800 is a 5.5 m centre console runabout described by the builder as Australias most versatile centre console and the 22Ultimate All-Rounder22. Built from 100% Australian-sourced materials and infused vinyl-ester composites, it is designed to exceed Australian boating standards while remaining light, strong and low-maintenance.

The hull and decks are vinyl-ester infused using composite panels and foam, with no timber in the structure, eliminating rot and delivering a lightweight yet robust platform. High-quality UV-stabilised gelcoats and print blockers are used for a durable, long-lasting finish, including darker colours. All-round soft gunnel fendering in a sail track provides excellent protection when coming alongside larger vessels without the need for additional fenders.

The ILUKA 1800 is intended as a large tender, a family runabout for towing, inshore fishing, or general exploring. Iluka Yachts builds each boat to order locally, allowing extensive customisation of finer details. A wide centre-console option adds more driver protection and a larger helm panel for navigation and fish-finding screens with top-mount engine controls.

The boat can live either in the water or on a trailer. It pairs naturally with Ilukas 6.25 m / 1.5 t Spitfire trailer featuring Glide-on easy launch and retrieval. An electrical upgrade option adds a second battery, bilge pump and solar panel, particularly useful if the boat is kept in the water or used less frequently in colder months.

Thanks to its efficient hull shape and low weight, the ILUKA 1800 requires less horsepower than many similarly sized, heavier boats. It performs well with 50 hp, with 70 hp considered the ideal power-to-weight balance and a maximum rating of 90 hp. Typical speeds are around 32 knots with 70 hp and up to 38 knots with 90 hp.

Standard equipment focuses on practicality, including under-deck fuel, hydraulic steering, electric bilge pump, a large soft gunnel fender, navigation lights, anchor gear, cleats and tow points, and flexible console options. A wide menu of extras such as teak decks, cushions, T-top, electronics, and fresh-water systems allow the ILUKA 1800 to be tailored as a pure dayboat, tender, or fishing platform.
