Ned Jack Huon Pine 41ft Ketch

Classic Tasmanian built 41ft Huon Pine ketch. Built in Launceston by Ned Jack in 1903 "Oimara" competed in the early years of Australian and New Zealand ocean yacht racing as a Gaff rigged Ketch 1920's - 1940's. Restored in 2013 with 1/14" Huon pine planking and Spotted Gum ribs. The deck and coach house are now Dynal epoxied marine ply with Silver Ash and New Guinea Rose wood beams. The current owner a Shipwright and Marine Surveyor has just slipped the yacht, Re-caulked and antifouled her to present for sale.

All sails are in good condition, Spinnaker, Twin furling headsails, Main and a mizzen. Yacht powered by a 85hp Nissan 4 cly diesel, serviced and running well. She is definitely a one of a kind sailing yacht and as the saying goes "They don't build them like that anymore". 122 years on the water with many more to follow "Oimara" is a piece of Australian sailing history.
