A Legendary Catamaran, Fully Restored for Adventure
Designed by Bill O'Brien and built by South Coast Catamaran Ltd in 1968, this Oceanic 30 Ketch is a timeless classic, combining durability and performance. Acquired in 2019, it underwent a complete refit between 2021 and 2022, making it ready to sail with no additional work required.
General Condition: Like New After Refit
The fiberglass hull is in excellent condition, fully refinished and protected. Rudders have been rebuilt in epoxy-coated plywood, with wooden/epoxy keels fitted with stainless steel shoes. The deck has been fully reconstructed in epoxy-coated plywood to ensure it is watertight. A hydraulic steering system comprises a Seastar cylinder and LeComble & Schmitt RV2 pump.
The interior features 2 double berths and 1 single berth optimized for comfort. The galley is fully equipped with a 2-burner gas stove, stainless steel sink with pressurized water, and a 50L fridge. The head compartment includes a manual toilet and black water tank. LED lighting and high-quality finishes throughout.
Electronics include a VHF Ocean RO 6800 with integrated GPS/AIS, a RayMarine autopilot with hydraulic actuator, a Garmin Fishfinder 160 sounder, Plastimo compass, hand-bearing compass, and a Digital Yacht Trinav active GPS. LED navigation lights are fitted.
The electrical system features 3 solar panels with a Victron Energy MPPT 100/30 charge controller. Battery capacity includes 2 engine batteries, 1 x 180Ah lead-acid backup battery, and 1 x 130Ah Creabest lithium battery fitted in 2024, with a Victron charger. A Cristec 12V/220V inverter provides power conversion.
The rigging and sails are new, installed in 2022. The standing and running rigging comprises new shrouds, stays, and halyards. Sails include a new full-batten mainsail with 2 reefs, genoa and staysail on furlers, a full-batten mizzen with 1 reef, and a symmetrical spinnaker. Masts and booms are in excellent condition.
Propulsion comes from 2 x Nanni Diesel 3.90 HE engines (overhauled in 2021), supported by 2 x 100L aluminum fuel tanks and 2 x 100L stainless steel freshwater tanks.
Safety equipment includes 6 life jackets, a horseshoe buoy, flares, fire extinguishers, and an updated EPIRB beacon. A brand-new inflatable dinghy with a 2 HP outboard motor is included.
