The S&S 30 Defiance is renowned for its excellent sailing ability and has remained a popular and capable cruiser/racer. This vessel was launched as the original S&S 30, and proved to be so successful, that her sister-ship was used to make the plug for the famous S&S 30 defiance production class! With such a history and pedigree, the current owner undertook a complete refit of the vessel which was completed in 2018 to not only restore the vessel to its former glory, but also to further improve its performance.

This major refit included: A NEW 2018 VETUS 27HP DIESEL ENGINE, NEW FUEL TANK AND FUEL LINES, NEW MAST, STANDING AND RUNNING RIGGING, COMPLETE 12V REWIRE WITH QUALITY BATTERIES AND SWITCHBOARD, NEW VECTRAN MAINSAIL AND TWO HEADSAILS, A FULL RESPRAY OF THE VESSEL INCLUDING TOPSIDES AND DECK, the list goes on! Stepping inside, the stunning cedar strip planked hull has been superbly clear coated. The timber gives a warm and traditional ambience through out. The saloon has seating for 6 in comfort, and there is accommodation for 5 including two in the forepeak, two settee berths, and a pilot berth aft. The galley is to port and features a camping gas stove, stink with fresh water, icebox, and good storage. Forward is the navigation area complete with VHF Radio with AIS, GPS, and traditional clock and barometer.

The interior now includes BRAND NEW SETTEE CUSHIONS AND MATTRESSES!

On deck, the spacious cockpit is well set up for easy sailing. There is a Raymarine depth/speed/log display and compass opposite. The quality self tailing primary winches and mainsheet are in easy reach of the tiller, ideal for sailing short handed. With its excellent ballast ratio, the S&S 30 design continues to be very competitive as a social racer, whilst having the safety and stability for easy cruising.

This vessel is powered by the NEW in 2018 Vetus 27HP Diesel Engine. This has only 160 hours on the clock! There is excellent access to the engine for easy servicing, and it provides comfortable cruising at 5 to 6 knots.
