About this vessel
This legendary FARR 1104 has been the seller's pride and joy for the last 15+ years. With hundreds of hours of love and upgrades (the owner is a shipwright) poured into her, she's a proven safe yacht, optimized for club racing and offshore sailing. This 1983 Farr 1104 “Rumbeat” has been raced and cruised out of Hobart over the past 15+ years after being purchased from Sandringham Yacht Club (VIC). Designed by Bruce Farr these boats were ahead of its time. Piccolo famously won the 1976 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and many other Farr 1104's have done very well in the “Great” race since.
“Rumbeat” is a very competitive offshore racer as well as club/harbour racing, having competed in many Launceston to Hobart and Melbourne to Hobart yacht races and lots more....... She has a large inventory as she was upgraded to meet Cat 2 for the 2022 Melbourne to Hobart yacht race and she was also weighed and measured with updated certificates at that time. She has current certificates on AMS, IRC and ORC and has consistently delivered results across all three categories.
“RUMBEAT” is also a comfortable cruising yacht powered by a 29HP Nanni Diesel engine, enclosed head (bathroom), lazy jacks, furling headsail, electric anchor winch, plenty of accommodation (sleeps up to 8), gas stove and cook tops, auto helm and much more....... “RUMBEAT” is very strongly built and reinforced for cruising and racing by the current owner. She is ready for you to top up the tanks, stow your gear on board and go cruising or racing..... !
