Kong Halvorsen 50 Flybridge
Overview
About this vessel
Globally praised for their exceptional build and timeless lines, Kong Halvorsen was the result of a joint venture between the famed Halvorsen builders of Australia and Joseph Kong. The 50 Enclosed Flybridge was no exception to the well-built and beautifully penned lineup of models. Its brilliantly thick fibreglass construction makes for a robust and stable vessel, while new paintwork presents the exterior in impeccable condition. Its current and experienced owner has undertaken what would be considered a refit of the vessel, presenting it in commendable condition. Sporting a long list of upgrades stretching across 4 years, such as a FULL RAYMARINE ELECTRONICS PACKAGE, NEW OC TENDER AND IMPRESSIVE DAVIT SYSTEM, NEW BATTERIES THROUGHOUT, A NEW WEBASTO DIESEL HEATER, A NEW FUEL POLISHING SYSTEM, NEW BOW THRUSTER AND MORE... A lot more! Even the original spotlight positioned on the brow was removed, fully reconditioned and re-globed before being installed back on board. With a profound attention to detail through all works since 2022, Mojo presents and performs like no other example.
The interior presents beautifully, sporting impeccable satin-finished timber trims and white Corian bench tops. The saloon is wide and spacious with plenty of floor space and a large L-shape settee to port with easily enough seating for 5 around a timber dinette. To starboard sits a unit that contains the television, plenty of storage and a head unit for the Fusion sound system. The lower helm is impressively equipped, featuring Raymarine's latest MFD, autopilot, camera system and radar, plus controls for the NEW Sleipner bow thruster, a VHF and windlass controls. The helm benefits hugely from the wide side-access door, making short-handed use far easier. To port and down a couple of steps sits the spacious galley. Bordered in wonderfully deep Corian bench tops, the galley features a large upright fridge, a 4-burner electric cooktop, a Sharp microwave and a Chef oven and grill.
The accommodation area is welcoming, featuring the master cabin forward. With plenty of floor space, a large double berth, terrific side-access and plenty of storage, this cabin makes for extended periods on board particularly comfortable. A private ensuite services the master, featuring a vacu-flush toilet, large vanity and basin. The guest cabin is equally spacious, featuring a wide king-size single/smaller double berth below and a single berth above. The second head is large, with great floor space, a large vanity and basin and a vacu-flush toilet. This head benefits from a large separate shower stall. With the addition of a holding tank, the accommodation and facilities on board leave nothing to be desired.
The flybridge makes for a wonderful additional living area, featuring elevated panoramic views and the same stunning finishes as below. Having benefitted from the refit, the new full-back helm chair sits on the centreline as a spectacular statement piece, accompanied by a large L-shape settee to starboard with plenty of seating for 4. The port side offers an additional fridge, plenty of storage and a fantastic office space. The flybridge helm is impressive, featuring more of Raymarine's latest electronics, such as the MFD, autopilot, AIS, cameras and radar. Also fitted with a VHF, bow thruster controls and chain counter. The aft deck space behind the enclosed flybridge is wonderfully uncluttered, perfect for a pair of lounges or bean bags to sit back and relax. This also provides a great aspect of the impressive tender and davit system. The NEW Offshore Cruising tender is an impressive upgrade and is fitted with a Yamaha 8hp four-stroke outboard. The stainless-steel davit system makes for exceptionally easy launch and retrieval. Avoiding the inherent drawbacks of a traditional boarding platform-mounted system, guests can retain the full use of the platform below and avoid the risk of the tender becoming swamped or swept away when in a large following sea offshore.
The cockpit is expansive and is finished with immaculate teak decking. With the upper aft deck extending right aft over the cockpit, this space is well sheltered. The cockpit sports many fantastic features with masses of additional fridge and freezer space, a Magma gas BBQ, an icemaker and a sink with H/C water. Underfoot is a large lazarette space, presenting in admirable condition and housing the filters for the water maker and manual bilge pump. Engine room access can be found at the front of the cockpit through a beautifully varnished companionway.
The engine room is impressive and presents in exceptional condition, having received an impressive array of upgrades. Featuring a re-modelled work/service space at the aft-most end with tool drawers, storage and a washer/dryer unit. Moving forward into the engine room, a pair of CAT 375hp diesels sit to each side and present incredibly well. These provide an economical cruise at 8 knots or a top of 11-12 knots, while a NEW fuel polishing and transfer system feeds the pair. Forward of the main engines is a smaller and separate services room that houses A/C units and other supporting services. The mechanical space is very well thought-out with terrific access and a long list of major upgrades and works that mean this room presents just as highly as the remainder of the vessel.
This incredibly stable and highly regarded cruiser has been further enhanced and bettered, even compared to new, thanks to the current and meticulous owner. Featuring a list of upgrades and major works stretching several pages long, Mojo is a one-of-a-kind. Refitted to perform as an ultimate displacement cruiser, this Kong-Halvorsen build is unlike any other.
