Proving to be a very popular purchase, the house boat market is booming and boats come to the market and sell quickly. Salti Dog II has an overall length of approximately 16m with a beam of approximately 5.25m so she is a big house boat with exceptional internal space due to the 2.4m high ceilings. The boat has had an internal refit with a fresh coat of paint, new kitchen, floorings updated. Salty Dog now presents as a modern open plan family house boat with three cabins and two toilets. One cabin as a master to the rear opening directly onto the extended rear enclosed deck complete with its own ensuite toilet, a forward saloon with double berth that doubles as a dinette and a huge amount of storage, and a third cabin that once held a set of bunks but now acts as the current owner's work office when working from the boat. What an office it is!
The enclosed bow section has breezeways, roll up windows, overhead shade, BBQ and a huge storage box hiding the Gas bottles, Inverter and water inlet. There is a recently installed Stainless Steel drum winch by local fabricators Bouvard Marine ready for anchoring while in the estuary or Murray River. An ideal place to cook up a Sunday BBQ or relax while heading up the Murray River, with an entrance like this it sets the tone for the boat.
Slide the Saloon door open and step aboard Salty Dog is an open plan design and the view from the front door aft is uninterrupted with fresh paint, new floor coatings and couches to Port and Starboard spreading out with the family and friends for an extended time aboard will be a pleasure, again those high ceilings make all the difference and a ceiling mounted AC unit will keep the heat at bay if the afternoon seabreeze is not doing its job. Plenty of natural light from large side windows allowing ample cooling breeze to pass through the boat on a hot summers day. A standard uncluttered house boat helm to the Starboard side does all its needs to do without any fuss.
The kitchen to the Starboard side is modern with a Hamptons white finish topped with a stone look benchtops and a stainless Steel sink. All you need is right at hand with plenty of bench space to prepare the platter or meats and seafoods for the BBQ. There is room for a mini stove / oven combination and a microwave sits above the upright fridge / freezer.
Heading to the stern through the central companionway and a second relaxation zone with custom boxes over the engine bays fitted with cushions to watch the day drift by. Enclosed in a grey finished breezeway with a solid overhead canopy the kids will love jumping off the rear swim platform or dragging a crab net over the back. A small hatch allows access to the Houseboats roof hardtop with a large storage box and davit to lift a small dinghy onto the boat. Everything has been thought of with Salti Dog II.
Powered by a pair of Yamaha 60 Hp high thrust four stroke engines just what the Dr ordered with many other house boats in this class still using the old 25 Hp engines. Hydraulic steering certainly helps with those tight movements in the marina.
