Overview

About this vessel

Acadia is a well-cared for and updated Tartan 3800. This model, from arguably Tartan's best period of design and construction, is full of thoughtful details which make it easy to handle and a joy to sail, cruise or race, while never sacrificing beauty and grace.

For sale by only her third New England owner, an experienced lifelong sailor who cares about the performance of his sailboats, Acadia has recently been upgraded with a new smooth bottom, new running rigging where needed, and a new hydraulic backstay adjuster. While with its three owners, she has always been professionally maintained by three of the top yacht yards in Southern New England.

Acadia is a beautiful looking boat, appealing to the eye from every angle. Her white gel coat topsides are in excellent condition and are complemented by teak toe rails and teak handrails on the cabin top, which along with navy blue cove and boot stripes and navy canvas, make for a traditional and sharp look.

The Tartan 3800 features a modern sugar scoop transom and "T" shaped cockpit which allows for a big wheel for enhanced feel, performance, and good visibility whether you prefer to drive from windward or leeward. Acadia is set up for both short-handed sailing and buoy racing with lazy jacks for the mainsail; self-tailing primary and secondary winches within easy reach of the helm; furling lines led aft to the cockpit; autopilot; extra inboard genoa tracks; 48" wheel and carbon spinnaker pole.
