Viking 47 Convertible
Overview
About this vessel
Take the wheel on JINKY JANE, a well-maintained and extensively updated 1998 Viking 47 Convertible that has undergone a comprehensive refit along with significant recent systems, electronics, and cosmetic upgrades. The result is a classic Viking Sportfish that delivers the look, feel, and functionality of a much newer vessel.
With a comprehensive Garmin electronics refit, custom helm redesign, major mechanical service, and numerous quality upgrades completed between 2024-2025, this boat stands apart from typical late-1990s offerings.
Helm & Electronics
The helm has been completely re-imagined to deliver a late-model Viking feel, featuring a custom acrylic and wood helm, new seating, and a fully integrated Garmin electronics suite. A Garmin electronics package completed in 2024 includes dual multifunction displays, radar with pedestal, autopilot with control display, and integrated sonar transducers. Additional upgrades include two new helm chairs, custom acrylic and wood helm panels, new LED spotlight light bar, and new LED spreader lights. A new ICOM VHF radio was also installed in 2024.
Engines & Mechanical Systems
Powered by proven MAN diesels, JINKY JANE features a clean, organized engine room with strong maintenance history and recent system upgrades. Recent mechanical work includes a 1,000-hour MAN service, new Seastar HC5801 steering cylinder with new hydraulic hoses to the bridge, and new Quick anchor windlass. House and starting batteries have been replaced, and the generator is operational and well maintained. A recent haul-out addressed all key underwater service items, including fresh bottom paint, replacement of all underwater zincs, propeller servicing and tuning, and treatment of propeller shafts with protective coating.
Exterior
The cockpit is clean, spacious, and purpose-built for offshore fishing, with meaningful refit-level improvements. The vessel features a large fishing cockpit, tuna door, cockpit freezer, and outriggers. Recent exterior upgrades include non-skid deck paint, canvas and Isinglass, new wood ladder steps, three Lumitec SeaBlaze Spectrum underwater LED lights, recent LED accent lighting throughout, and new LED spreader and spotlight bars.
Interior & Accommodations
The interior retains Viking's proven galley-up layout while incorporating tasteful refit-level improvements. Features include a custom salon and dinette layout, a custom 47" hideaway flat-screen television, new carpet throughout, and new appliances including refrigerator, washer, and dryer. The vessel has a two stateroom layout with an Island Queen owner stateroom and twin bunks, two heads with separate showers, and clean, neutral interior finishes.
This Viking 47 is not a typical late-1990s example. The major refit and extensive 2024-2025 upgrades create a rare combination of classic Viking build quality and modern systems, offering a turnkey, high-value opportunity for a buyer seeking a capable offshore platform.
