Duchesse II is a 2001 Catana 472 performance cruising catamaran and part of the highly sought-after Caligo limited edition range. Built by the renowned French shipyard Catana and designed by Christophe Barreau and Fredric Neuman, this model is celebrated for combining bluewater capability, speed, and liveaboard comfort in a refined, lightweight multihull package.

With a composite hull and GRP deck, Duchesse II features a 7.5m beam and light displacement of just 8.9 tonnes. The daggerboard design delivers impressive upwind performance and a shallow draft of only 1.2 metres—perfect for accessing remote anchorages without compromising sailing ability.

Powered by twin Yanmar 4JH5E 55hp diesel engines (2018) with low hours (1300 each), sail drives (SD50), and feathering props, she cruises efficiently at 7 knots and can reach up to 18 knots under sail. The rig includes a carbon fibre mast, boom, bowsprit, and Kevlar rigging, supporting a powerful sail wardrobe with a full-batten Dacron mainsail, radial Dacron headsails, three screechers/gennakers, and a Code 0. The saloon is bright and airy with an up-galley to port, equipped with twin refrigeration units (new compressors and cooling plates), Force 10 stove/oven/grill, microwave, and generous storage.
