Overview
About this vessel
EL TORO is a 58ft custom-built bluewater sailing yacht, designed and constructed in Greece in 2003 by a professional shipwright, with only one example ever launched. Purpose-built for serious offshore passagemaking, she features robust construction, a substantial 27-tonne displacement, and a hull form optimised for long-distance cruising rather than marina use.
Between 2024 and 2025, EL TORO underwent a comprehensive professional refit, resulting in a truly turnkey, ocean-ready yacht. Key upgrades focused on core systems and ownership risk mitigation, including a complete new rig (2025), new Yanmar 4LV170 diesel engine with low hours, new aluminium fuel tanks, upgraded hydraulic steering, modernised electrical systems, and a full repaint of hull and deck.
Energy autonomy is a standout feature, with an extensive renewable setup comprising 1,410 watts of solar power (3 7 470W panels), dual wind generators, lithium and AGM battery banks, inverter capacity, and generator support. This configuration is ideal for off-grid cruising, liveaboard use, and extended stays at anchor, minimising reliance on shore power or engine hours.
With a deep fin keel with bulb and winglet, capable sail plan, excellent tankage, and generous accommodation, EL TORO is perfectly suited to extended cruising, offshore passagemaking, and serious liveaboard use. For the experienced sailor seeking strength, individuality, and true offshore capability, she represents a rare opportunity to acquire a fully refitted 58ft custom bluewater yacht at a fraction of modern replacement cost 96without the delays, uncertainty, or capital exposure of a new build or major refit.
