Overview
About this vessel
French designed and French built in Martinique, this gracious bluewater cruising catamaran is an exceedingly strong build. She is GRP / 'Sapele' plywood 'Sicomin' epoxy producing a yacht with incredible stiffness and durability. Testament to her strength, she may be hauled out by crane, travel lift or Sea Lift readily. Adding to the strength and safety, she has large crash boxes, and the hulls below the waterline from the bows to mini keels are sacrificial foam section. This affords incredible protection and would make for simple foam repairs.
'SHAMBALA' was built to Bureau Veritas Class and designed by the very successful design team Mortain and Mavrikios who won the US boat of the year 2013 with their Nautitech 441 cat.
Only in her second ownership, she has received two refits since her present owners purchased in 2016. In 2018 a huge refit included a new SPARCRAFT mast, new Dyneema standing rigging, new Spectra carbon square top mainsail, new Dacron genoa and not least a full topside and superstructure re paint. Add to that a new aluminium bow sprit and a host of other items. In 2024 yet another decent refit with sensible renewals and improvements.
Fully equipped for long term, peaceful and self sufficient cruising, 'SHAMBALA' has a beautiful, clean and uncluttered interior with all lacquered paint surfaces in perfect condition. She is an exemplary family cruising catamaran. She is a turn-key prospect, Coppercoat anti foul applied only a year ago.
