Dudley Dix 40 CR
Overview
About this vessel
Exceptional bang for your buck, this well proven cruiser racer offers a rare combination of performance, comfort, and quality construction. Built to a very high standard in marine ply and epoxy, this yacht delivers strength, stiffness, and longevity, while remaining light and responsive under sail. With only around 50 yachts built to this design worldwide, it also offers a level of exclusivity rarely found at this size and price point.
The cockpit is spacious, functional, and well suited to both cruising and performance sailing. Protected by a spray dodger, it features a proper swim platform with hot and cold transom shower, making swimming stops and weekends away a pleasure. Storage is excellent, with a sizeable cockpit locker and twin gas lockers. Sailing systems are well laid out, with six winches and Raymarine instruments positioned to starboard of the companionway, including an A95 plotter, wind and multi displays, and a Raymarine autopilot. A second Hybrid Touch plotter is fitted at the navigation station.
Below decks, the interior is surprisingly spacious and very well thought out. The wraparound galley to port features a two burner cooker with oven and twin sinks, ideal for extended cruising. Aft to port is the generous owners' cabin, offering excellent headroom, a seat, and what appears to be a queen sized double berth. Aft to starboard is the head and shower, complete with a good capacity holding tank. Forward of this is a dedicated forward facing navigation station.
The saloon is comfortable and versatile, with a U shaped dinette to port that converts into an additional double berth, and a full length saloon settee to starboard. Forward, the guest cabin is impressively sized for a yacht of this length, featuring a V berth, seat, and twin lockers.
Power comes from a reliable 30hp Yanmar shaft drive engine, centrally mounted over the keel beneath the return of the galley. Engine access is excellent on all sides, making maintenance straightforward. The engine has recorded 1,076 hours and was serviced in March 2025.
This yacht has earned a strong reputation as an excellent performer while remaining comfortable and practical for cruising and time onboard. Recently antifouled and hull polished in May 2025, it is well presented and ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
A standout opportunity for buyers seeking genuine value in a capable, comfortable, and well built cruiser racer. This yacht should be high on your shopping list.
