Overview
About this vessel
Champagne Taste combines striking design, lightweight composite construction and impressive performance. Built for offshore cruising yet equally capable in coastal waters, it offers an ideal blend of speed, stability and comfort.
Fine entry hulls and a generous sail plan ensure efficient, responsive sailing, while the wide beam enhances balance at sea. The open cockpit flows into a bright saloon with panoramic windows, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living areas.
Inside, the layout is light-filled and functional, with a practical galley, inviting cabins and ample storage designed for extended voyages.
Champagne Taste is uniquely built using Kiri (Paulownia) timber strip planks as the core material throughout. The hulls are built with four layers of fiberglass (GRP) on the exterior and three layers on the interior, all bonded with epoxy resin, an immensely strong and waterproof end result and has cruised the rough waters of Tasmania and the east coast with her current original owners.
This method provides an excellent balance of strength, stiffness, and light weight, with the Kiri core offering natural rot resistance and superior insulation properties. The multiple GRP and epoxy laminations ensure a durable, waterproof, and high-integrity hull structure.
The Schionning Waterline design is a proven choice for sailors seeking both exhilarating performance and a safe, comfortable platform for adventure.
