Overview
About this vessel
With its clever design and true micro-cruising capability, the Souriceau 475 is a unique and highly versatile trailerable yacht. Measuring 4.75m in length with a generous 2.2m beam, this lightweight yet seaworthy design by Eric Henseval offers an exceptional balance of performance, simplicity, and practicality. Designed with a lifting keel, it provides shallow draft access to secluded anchorages while still delivering impressive upwind ability and stability under sail. The twin rudders with strong skegs also provide the ability for the vessel to be dried out with the tide with the keel up.
Built using robust plywood/epoxy construction, the Souriceau 475 is both strong and easily maintained, making it ideal for adventurous sailors seeking low-cost, go-anywhere cruising and racing. It features steering positions both in the cockpit plus inside with visibility through the perspex domes, providing comfort even in challenging weather conditions. With accommodation suited to short stays onboard and the flexibility to mount an outboard engine, this capable trailer sailer opens the door to exploring everything from sheltered waterways to coastal passages with confidence and ease.
