About this vessel
The Van de Stadt Spirit 28 is renowned for its exceptional sailing performance, build quality, and offshore capability. Since 2024 the vessel has received NEW STANDING RIGGING, ALL WINDOWS REPLACED, NEW GUARD RAILS, NEW LOWRANCE CHART PLOTTER, NEW GAS STOVE AND GAS CERTIFICATION, NEW UPHOLSTERY, NEW SASSAFRAS DINETTE, BATTERY MONITOR AND USB OUTLETS ADDED, NEW RADIO WITH BLUETOOTH, NEW ELECTRIC BILGE PUMP, the list goes on. Prior to this, the previous owner added a NEW 2011 NANNI 14HP DIESEL ENGINE, NEW 2022 SPRAY DODGER, 2013 DOYLES FULLY BATTENED MAINSAIL, AND 2011 HEADSAIL FURLER AND DOYLES NO. 1 HEADSAIL. Stepping inside, the freshly refurbished interior is a charming mix of traditional timber trims and modern painted finishes. To port is the NEW Sassafras dinette, with seating for 6 in comfort on the newly upholstered settees. To starboard is the well set up galley. This is equipped with a NEW 2 burner gas stove, sink with fresh water, icebox, and plenty of storage. The accommodation is ideal for weekend cruising with family and friends. There is a double v-berth forward, two quarter berths aft, and a single settee berth in the saloon when additional accommodation is required. The package is complete with a manual marine toilet with NEW door, and vanity opposite.
Outside, the cockpit is well protected by the NEW 2022 spray dodger. Well set up for short handed sailing, there is a furling headsail, mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks, and both the main and headsail sheets are in easy reach of the helm. Forward is the anchor locker, and there is a swim ladder on the transom for easy access to the water on a sunny day.
This vessel is powered by the NEW 2011 Nanni 14HP diesel engine. This was professionally installed and has been well maintained from new. It has also been freshly serviced NOV 2025. This provides easy cruising at 5 knots.
