About this vessel
The Excess 11 is a compact cruising catamaran designed for both comfort and sailing thrills, featuring a twin-helm station for a connected sailing experience, a spacious saloon and cabins, and a simple, light, and open design. It's a rare sub-40-foot catamaran offering substantial volume and ease of handling, making it suitable for long passages or day sailing, with available three or four-cabin configurations and a fiberglass hull with open-ocean capability.
The dual helm stations provide a unique, direct connection to the sea and steering sensation, while the Pulse Line rig and low-slung boom contribute to a sporty feel and easy handling, even for short-handed sailing. Despite its relatively small size, the boat offers impressive volume and comfort for its length, with a large owner's cabin, spacious bathrooms, and a bright, open saloon and cockpit.
The boat is designed for life on board, with a comfortable cockpit, thoughtful cabin layouts including large berths and cutaway corners for easier sheet changes, and a compact but fully equipped galley. All control lines are brought back to the helm stations, simplifying management for short-handed crews. The low center of effort and simple rigging further contribute to easy sailing.
Built with a fiberglass hull and CE Class A certification, the Excess 11 is designed for offshore cruising and open-ocean navigation, filling a gap in the market for cruising catamarans under 40 feet.
