Arguably the most stunning daysailer in this size range on the planet, the Eagle 44 is sure to turn heads again and again. Set up to be easily handled by one and enjoyed by many, this Dutch masterpiece from Dykstra Naval Architects and Leonardo Yachts is tricked out to provide sailing performance to match her classic drop-dead gorgeous lines—a union that creates a singular feel and sailing affair that must be experienced to appreciate fully. True yacht build-quality and finish is evident throughout. Modern luxuries like cockpit refrigeration and sink housed in a gorgeous mahogany table are standard.
WELCOME is Eagle 44 hull #30, a testament to the success of this class and concept. Presented in "as new" condition and realistically priced at a substantial savings over new construction. In the water in full commission and ready for August and warm fall sailing.
Having built and sailed an Alerion 33 for years—which I loved—I was ready to take it up a notch. I was looking for more water line length and more sailing performance and was intrigued by the approach Leonardo Yachts takes with sail controls on the Eagle 44 with a captive reel winch under the deck for the mainsheet and the addition of a separate powered winch forward in the cockpit primarily for the main halyard. But the look of this boat is something else! She is incredibly beautiful and so well built. She boasts a truly comfortable cockpit for guests and is a sheer joy to sail—which I do not hesitate to do singlehanded. She has exceeded my expectations in every way and is only for sale to make room in life for a new Oyster and the upcoming Oyster World Rally.
