About this vessel
<div><p>GILLA was built in Bremen in 1950 by Henry Gruber, one of the most famous German designers.</p><p>The hull is in classic planking with teak hull and mahogany walls.</p><p>Several Atlantic crossings last in the 70s, where she remained until 2000, based in Newport RI. During this time she successfully participated in the Antigua Classic Week twice. She was bought by the current owner in 2000 and brought back to Italy where in 2003 she received a total refit and restoration at Fano shipyards.</p><p>Present in several AIVE meetings in the Adriatic, showing qualities of an excellent upwind boat.</p><p>In 2024 she participates in the meetings "Vele Storiche Viareggio" and "Argentario Sailing Week", and in autumn will be again at home in Fano at Marina dei Cesari.</p><p>Masts and boom completely restored in April 2024.</p><p>GILLA is an incredible classic boat!</p></div>
