Standing rigging in stainless steel was replaced in 2000. The hull was refastened below the waterline in 2000. The complete electrical system was overhauled with a new electrical panel in 2005. A new windlass was installed in 2005. The yacht features a Webasto heating system. Upholstery has been renewed, and interior varnish on teak and mahogany has been restored.
The yacht is currently ashore, allowing for a thorough inspection of the hull and underwater works.
Rigging & Sails
Scythe is rigged as a sloop, featuring an aluminum mast mounted on the keel and stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2000. The mast carries a spinnaker pole. There are two halyard winches, plus a reefing winch; two genoa sheet winches; and two spinnaker winches. The complete sail inventory includes a mainsail, genoa, yankee, trysail, cruising sail, and two spinnakers, all by McWilliams from 2003, allowing easy adaptation to various sailing conditions.
Interior Accommodation
The warm interior in teak and mahogany exudes the authentic ambiance of a classic yacht. The accommodation features five berths in two cabins (one double, three singles), renewed upholstery, a stove with oven and grill, sink, pressurized water system, washbasin, shower, Headmate marine toilet, Webasto Thermo Top heating with two radiators, hot water system, and an original gimballed oil lamp.
