EASTWIND was designed by Ron Amy and built by the Formosa Boat Builders, Taiwan. EASTWIND has only had one owner. The owner commissioned the designer, Ron Amy, to work with the boat builder during its construction to ensure the boat met all design specifications. Since its launch in 1980 EASTWIND has benefited from one owner who has meticulously maintained the boat and engine, as the boat is his pride and joy. In February 2024 the owner renewed the teak deck. The ONAN 6.5kw generator and PUR Power Survivor 80 II water maker gives the boat additional self-sufficiency. She has excellent fuel and water capacity.
Living aboard is extremely comfortable with air conditioning in the saloon and mid cabin. There is a large saloon and galley, two bathrooms, one with a shower room. All interior wood is teak. The fine sailing characteristics and construction of EASTWIND will have wide appeal.
A three double cabin boat with additional sleeping capacity in the saloon, EASTWIND is a spacious home afloat and perfectly self-sufficient.
The cutter is a three-cabin boat. Each double berth has a wooden base and the aft and middle cabins have foam mattresses. There is a bathroom and shower room beside the forward and middle cabins, and en suite bathroom in the aft cabin. The cabins are all air conditioned from the saloon and mid cabin with vents aft and forward. All cabins have good overhead lighting and reading lights and a couple of 12v fans. All cabins have 12v and 240v outlets.
There is a shower room in the bathroom adjacent to the forward and middle cabins with hot and cold water.
The two heads are both manual. The head adjacent to the forward and middle cabins has a 40L holding tank, which has never been used and needs connecting if so desired.
The saloon has large drop-down table and seating area.
The galley is large and part of the large open plan main saloon area. It has a reffreezer with top door and front door. There are plenty of storage areas and cupboards.
The standing rigging was replaced in the year 2000 but has seen very little use since.
The yacht has just received all new teak decks, including cockpit, coamings and stanchion bases.
