About this vessel
Allégresse is a New Zealand-designed and built triple-planked Kauri yacht. She is a much admired "modern classic" yacht from the pen of Bruce Clarke and built by Brin Wilson of Auckland.
With a moderate fin keel giving a good ballast ratio, she is easily driven and performs well and in comfort. She is cold moulded in 3 layers of 6mm kauri and glassed over kauri stringers and laminated keel floors. The deck is 12mm kauri ply over laminated kauri beams. Allégresse is very well cared for, all maintenance is up to date, and she is looking the part.
She has recently been slipped (August 2026) and antifouled, with Prop Speed done on the shaft and propeller and the anodes replaced.
The current owners have had her since 2012 and have enjoyed some extensive blue water cruising (two handed) around the North Island and the top of the South Island in NZ. In 2014, they sailed her to Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. She was also sailed by one of the owners in the 2023 Solo-Trans Tasman from New Plymouth to Southport, as well as the owners competing (two-handed) in the 2023 Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.
Allégresse has resided comfortably in Hobart since Jan 2024. She is a truly magnificent and well credentialed (and proven) blue water cruising yacht, and she is in an excellent seaworthy condition. She comes with a cat 1 stability certificate and has been imported to Australia.
