Built in Hobart in 1985 for offshore races including the Melbourne to Hobart race, DOUBLE TROUBLE was later moved to Melbourne, where her current owner bought her some 26 years ago. Since then, the yacht has been based at Akuna Bay, sailing around Broken Bay and on the ocean. The current owner has enjoyed the yacht for an impressive 26 years, which tells any buyer that the designer Joe Adams "got it right".
DOUBLE TROUBLE is a fast and especially "well mannered" boat with performance, ease of handling and no hidden 'nasties' — unlike many Adams 10s that are primarily set up as day racers.
The yacht features a practical cabin that keeps crew dry and comfortable when offshore and provides a cosy option for overnight stays in secluded bays. Her fractional rig and manageable sail plan make her easy to sail, even short-handed.
Inside, the boat is especially clean and bright for her age. All the sailing gear is well used but has been expensively upgraded recently.
The brand new rigging in November 2025 was carried out by Empire Rig Gosford, NSW — the work cost $20,000. The mast was lifted with all standing and running rigging replaced. The rig between the hull was remade and strengthened. The work was not cheap, but the next owner will have safety, security and strength.
Immaculately presented and lovingly maintained throughout her current ownership, DOUBLE TROUBLE is a well-mannered and capable yacht offering an excellent combination of sailing performance, comfort and ease of handling.
DOUBLE TROUBLE represents a rare opportunity to acquire a well-loved and proven Adams 10 with genuine offshore experience, significant recent investment in her rig and a level of care that is immediately apparent.
A versatile yacht equally suited to competitive sailing, coastal cruising, day sailing and weekends away, DOUBLE TROUBLE is ready for her next owner to enjoy.
