ADORNO is a fine Racer/Cruiser sailing yacht. The First Class 12 was designed by Group Finot, creating a platform that was ahead of its time using carbon fiber internal frames and honeycomb bulkheads throughout. A Powerful IOR monotype hull, streamlined and safe.
ADORNO is powered by a newly installed electric engine and carries a Doyle standard main, Sobstad 135% Genoa and has a staysail rig that carries a Doyle 60% Jib.
The centerline companionway sets you in a wide open salon with galley to port and inline Nav station to starboard. Aft are 2 double staterooms with fans and ports. Moving forward is a centerline salon table with dinette seating to port. Adjacent to starboard is a lone settee. Forward is a pass through head to V berth, with manual Jabsco head to port and vanity with sink to starboard. The interior features 5'10" headroom, attractive wood interior and custom cabinets, stereo, and interior LED lighting.
The L-shaped galley to port of companionway offers great working area underway or on the hook. It includes ample storage, a deep double stainless steel sink with pressure cold water, an Isotherm top loading refrigeration unit, an Optimas two-burner gimbaled LPG stove and oven, and a microwave.
The inline, forward facing Nav Station is just to starboard of companionway with ample storage for future electronics, and 12V/110V panel at your fingertips.
The hull features hand laid alternating layers of fiberglass matt with polyester resin, a lead fin keel with bulb (6'11"), and a spade rudder. The deck includes a raised trunk cabin forward of cockpit with fixed windows and portlights, double high bow and stern pulpits, 1" stainless steel tapered stanchions bolted to weather deck, and double high life lines bow to stern with boarding gates mid-ship starboard side. A Simpson Lawrence manual windlass with single bow roller is fitted with a Bruce 30# anchor, 50' 5/16" HT chain, and 200' rode. Bottom paint applied in 2021.
The large open cockpit features a center line helm and center helm wheel with traveler just forward. Rod rigging was reportedly replaced in 2013 by Hansen Rigging. The triple spreader anodized aluminum keel stepped mast rig includes rigid boom vang, Navtec hydraulic back stay, retractable bow sprint, whisker pole, adjustable jib sheet cars, and running backs.
Additional equipment includes a Sail-O-Mat 601 self-steering windvane with mount (not installed), a PUR Survivor 403 watermaker, an Achilles dinghy with bag and oars (no motor), and an electric winch.
