A classic and dependable yacht with plenty of character, ready for her next owner and new adventures.
Reconditioned in 2024, the yacht is powered by a Yanmar 2GM20 diesel engine with saildrive (new in 2016) and two-bladed propeller. The engine has been well maintained and serviced annually, offering reliable and economical performance for cruising, manoeuvring and harbour work.
The accommodation is exceptionally spacious for a 29ft yacht, with clever use of space throughout. Access is via the companionway with lockable wooden washboards, sliding Perspex hatch and additional GRP cover for security and weather protection. The interior feels warm, practical and comfortable, making her well suited to weekends away or extended cruising.
The saloon is bright and welcoming, with smart teak and holly flooring and impressive headroom of approximately 6'2" through to the forecabin - unusual for a boat of this size. To port is a comfortable U-shaped dinette with table, while a settee berth sits opposite to starboard. Both seating areas are over 6ft long and can be used as occasional berths when required.
The galley is well equipped for cruising, with a three-burner hob, oven, double stainless steel sink and hot and cold pressurised water. A top-loading cool box is built into the work surface, with additional 12V fridge beneath the chart table. Generous storage from hull-mounted cupboards makes the galley practical for longer periods afloat.
Aft of the galley is the heads compartment, fitted with a marine toilet, sink and hot and cold pressurised water via a pull-out faucet. A shower sump pump is fitted in the floor to evacuate water, adding further practicality for cruising.
To starboard of the companionway is a practical chart table with chart storage and 12V/220V electrical panel. Water and fuel gauges are positioned here for easy monitoring while aboard.
The aft cabin offers a comfortable double berth with memory foam mattress from Ship Shape Bedding, along with a good-sized wardrobe, hanging space and shelving. The forecabin provides a double berth with infill, additional wardrobe and deck hatch for natural light and ventilation. Both cabins benefit from 12V lighting, opening ports and deck hatches.
Strong Dutch-built GRP construction with a solid hull and quality finish throughout. The Compromis 888 is well regarded for her robust build, reassuring stability and capable cruising performance. Her substantial construction also helps reduce condensation, making her a notably dry and comfortable boat below decks.
Well equipped on deck with pulpit and pushpit, stainless steel guard wires, bow, midship and stern cleats, anchor with chain and warp, teak coachroof handrails, genoa car tracks, bathing ladder, warps and fenders. Full cockpit enclosure, sprayhood and stack pack fitted in 2022, creating a superb additional sheltered living space and effectively adding another "room" onboard for extended cruising comfort. The cockpit also benefits from teak-covered seating.
