Thirsty Work is a very special S125, designed by Kim Swarbrick and built by Dave Clifton at Clifton Yachts in 1998.
Clifton Yachts carried out a comprehensive refit in 2022, which included new internal and external paint, new carbon standing rigging, new electrics and wiring, and replacement of all cushions. The galley was modified to take an Engel 95L dual zone fridge freezer, and there is also a large ice box for day sailing. Two 500kg water ballast tanks were added above the rear quarter berths, vastly improving sailing performance when shorthanded without impinging on room in the berths. The ballast tanks also double as freshwater storage when cruising. All running gear for the motor was replaced, including gearbox, heat exchanger, shaft, shaft seal, flexible coupling, P bracket, Gori 3 blade folding 2 speed propeller, and new gear box controls. The keel is lifted with a stainless-steel hydraulic ram. The sails are also excellent, and the boat is ready to go.
Thirsty Work is a great performance boat now set up for comfortable fast cruising. Recently slipped and antifouled.
