Kasimira is a truly fascinating and distinctive 45ft cruiser stern narrowboat, combining traditional inland waterways charm with some remarkably innovative features. Finished in an attractive cream and bright blue livery with elegant gold coachlines, she is a striking boat both afloat and moored, further complemented by a matching blue pram cover at the stern.
One of Kasimira's most unusual features is her dual steering arrangement. She can be steered conventionally from the cruiser stern using a tiller, or from within the raised cockpit using a traditional nautical-style steering wheel, offering an experience unlike most narrowboats on the waterways. The raised cockpit creates a sociable and comfortable space, with dining tables and seating on both sides, together with additional chairs and a dedicated captain's chair positioned at the helm alongside the control panel.
Adding to her unique appeal is an ingenious adjustable ballast system. A water tank situated beneath the captain's chair can be filled or emptied as required, allowing the boat's position in the water to be altered. This clever design enables Kasimira to lower or raise her profile when navigating under bridges and through areas with restricted clearance.
Steps lead down from the cockpit into the accommodation, where the warm timber interior creates a welcoming and homely atmosphere. The open-plan galley and saloon provide a practical and comfortable living space. The galley is fitted with a gas cooker, sink with drainer and an under-counter fridge, while the saloon features a comfortable sofa which can also be used as an additional single berth. A multi-fuel stove provides a cosy focal point for the cabin, complemented by central heating throughout the boat for year-round comfort.
The bathroom is fitted with a hip bath complete with shower over, a vanity unit and a cassette toilet. Forward of the bathroom is the bedroom, which offers a comfortable double bed and useful storage.
Kasimira was last blacked in 2025 and benefits from anodes fitted in 2019. She also holds a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 2028, giving prospective owners added peace of mind.
Offering character, clever engineering and a layout well suited to leisure cruising or extended stays afloat, Kasimira represents a rare opportunity to acquire a narrowboat that is genuinely unlike any other on the market.
