Tasman Venture is a multi-award winning, marine tourism business with strong year on year growth, set in the stunning Fraser Coast region. With over 30 years of dedication to the business and the local tourism industry, the owners have decided it is time to step back and devote time to their family. Tasman Venture was the region's first commercial whale watching business in Hervey Bay. The current owners have been operating since 1991.
The business offers year-round tours, including seasonal Half Day Whale Watching tour (July-October); year-round Full Day Remote Fraser Island tours (including whale watching and immersive swim with whale experiences July-October); the newly launched Private Island Escapes Charters (2021); seasonal Fishing Charters (April-June); and Private Charters on request.
Tasman Venture has continually upheld a high standard of experience delivery throughout its three decades of operation, with numerous vessel upgrades over the years. They currently have two main vessels in the fleet to accommodate the tours they operate year-round.
The vessel, 'Tasman Venture III', was purpose built by the owners in 1994. It is an 18.67m fast and luxurious New Wave catamaran. The specifically designed vessel has large decks, including a water level viewing platform and underwater viewing rooms. Tasman Venture is air conditioned and is fitted with Wi-Fi facilities. The vessel accommodates 125 passengers in 1D survey, 50 passengers in 1C survey, and 24 passengers in 1B survey, with overnight accommodations for up to 14 passengers. A spare motor and gearbox will be provided that has 20,000 hours.
The latest addition to the Tasman Venture fleet is 'Pure Dive', purchased in 2020 to accommodate the increased demand in the Remote Fraser Island tour and to provide a higher level of comfort, safety features and luxury to passengers. This vessel was built in 2008 and is a 19.21m New Wave Catamaran. It accommodates 48 passengers in 1C survey and 15 passengers in 2B overnight survey.
'Pure Dive' has had brand new Scania engines fitted in 2024.
Along with its two main vessels, the Tasman Venture fleet includes two 6.2m amphibious SeaLegs vessels (140HP motors) including one trailer, two 4.1m Polycraft boats (30HP motors) including one trailer, one 4.2m Allycraft (30HP motor), one 4.55m Polycraft (40HP motor) registered and including trailer, and one Avon Inflatable (15HP motor). Additionally included is a 25-seater ROSA bus and a 2013 Ford Ranger PX XLT Utility Cab 4 Door 6 Speed Auto. Both of these vehicles have been branded with the current logo designs.
